The White House

Additions and alterations to an historic Devonport villa

This project was completed in two phases. The first part involved the renovation of the existing villa that had been tinkered with on numerous occasions over the years.

Wrap around verandahs were reinstated, the master bedroom received an ensuite and walk-in wardrobe and a temporary kitchen was established for the owners to use during stage two.

Stage two involved the demolition of the existing lean to structure at the back of the villa, the existing garage and drive were removed. A new pool was installed along with a sympathetic addition that was in keeping with the original villa. This new space incorporated living, dining, bathrooms, laundry and a study.

The finished product is a quality built property combining contemporary features within a traditional envelope that the owners look forward to enjoying for many years to come.

It was a pleasure to work on another quality project with Stephen Jones Architects.
