Extensive Villa Upgrade

Restoration of the exterior and interior

From the street this Remuera home looks modest, what you can’t see from the road is the extensive home that sits beyond the front façade.  This project was by far the most challenging propping job we have ever completed with little or no access down the sides of a steep site. The project was designed by Salmond Reed Architects, the structural concept and engineering to enable this project to be constructed is a testament to the design team.

The existing villa has been restored to retain its yesteryear character but beyond the villa, the design is more contemporary with a combination of sympathetic materials such as weatherboards meeting modern materials of standing seam zinc cladding and roofing. One of the highlights of this building is the steel and glass covered outside deck living space.

The owners have brought their influence into the interior with the selection of colour, patterns and fittings to really add to the spaces.

It was a very challenging project but the end result is a fantastic family home that is a journey of discovery for anybody walking through the front door for the first time.
